BS The Board Secretary Board paperwork, handled.

About

A father-and-son firm.

The Board Secretary was founded by Cooper Munson and his father James Munson. The shared craft: recurring paperwork produced correctly, on deadline, for buyers who cannot afford surprises.

The founding story

Told straight

Cooper Munson builds and runs technology services for small operators. He founded TradeLock AI, which provides local-search and website services to trades companies, and Your Quote Tool, a quoting platform integrated with QuickBooks and Stripe. Different industries, same discipline: recurring paperwork that has to be produced correctly, on deadline, month after month.

James Munson has spent more than twenty years selling and servicing B2B software to institutional buyers. He is a partner at CDS Business Mapping, the company behind RiskMeter Online — a subscription underwriting platform used by 700+ insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers and agents nationwide, acquired by CoreLogic. Buyers like that renew for one reason: the service is reliable, the liability is understood, and the work shows up.

The Board Secretary is those two disciplines pointed at the same problem: the recurring, deadline-bound public paperwork of special districts and small public boards, anywhere in the United States — built to each district’s own state law and retention schedule, and run like a service institutional buyers would renew. Arizona is the home state and the deepest ground; the discipline is the same wherever a board sits.

Why the combination works

Why boards trust it

A board buying administration is buying two things at once: the operator’s ability to produce the documents correctly every single month, and the institution’s confidence that the relationship is built for reliability, liability and renewal — not for a quick sale.

Cooper is the operator. James has spent a career on the other side of the table from institutional buyers who ask hard questions about exactly those things. The firm is built to answer them before they’re asked.

The boundaries, restated as principles

Documents, never dollars.
Support, never the statutory officer.

Never a statutory officer

The board’s Secretary stays the Secretary. We prepare the documents they sign.

Never legal advice

The district’s attorney stays the attorney. Contested matters are referred to them.

Never custody of public funds

We prepare documents. Public money never passes through our hands.

Never election administration

Elections stay with the officials the law assigns them to.

The Board Secretary provides administrative document preparation and board-secretary support. It does not provide legal advice, hold public funds, or serve as a statutory officer; contested matters are referred to the district’s attorney.

See the work before you decide

The free first month exists so the documents can make the argument.
